Reminded of the Dangers of Mid Acts False Theology and Doctrines

Sometimes it is hard to stay focused and on track in the Christian faith and the following reminds me of why we have the Berean Perspective site online:  “I remember I found your site when I was looking for information about ultra -dispensationalism.  I had attended a bible study for about a year, that had me so confused.  When I explained to someone  some of the things he was teaching, they told me it sounded like ultra -dispensationalism.  Never dreamed that there were so many different kinds though.  But your podcast helped me a lot”.  This is so encouraging to read, and this is among many types of comments we get from time to time letting us know that we have been able to help them.

It was over 9 years ago that I was first introduced to Mid Acts Dispensationalism theology through Paltalk which is an online forum for audio and text chat with various rooms for people to choose from.  I can remember hearing so many great things at first how the Bible was the Word of God, the Trinity Doctrine affirmed, salvation in Christ alone by faith, but there was something off which at first I just did not get.  It was over a short period of time that I realized this movement had some very serious misconceptions of doctrine and false theology concerning Jesus Christ, the apostles, and Paul.

Now 9 years later there is more confusion within this movement with more sects claiming to be Pauline followers but having different perspectives and doctrines.  The dangers of this movement is that there are those whom believe their perspective of the gospel,  “is the gospel!”  They claim that anyone whom believes they can be saved by grace through what Jesus taught in the Gospels and by what Peter preached concerning the gospel have a false gospel, and that they are not truly saved.

Mid Acts pastors, teachers, churches teach that Paul and Peter preached “different” gospels for people to be saved in Christ Jesus.  According to Mid Acts theology Paul preached salvation by grace through faith alone for Jews and Gentiles, and Peter’s message was an earthly kingdom and works that focused on Israel.  In fact, according to Mid Acts Dispensationalist’s Jesus did not preach salvation was for Gentiles nor did He preach salvation by grace through faith alone, but rather He preached an earthly kingdom gospel to Jews exclusively.

In our various articles and podcasts we have addressed the dangers and concerns of Mid Acts Dispensationalism and this post is not intended to address every detail.  With that being said the following Scriptures will demonstrate that the Mid Acts claims of being bible believing Berean’s is not accurate.

Peter’ gospel of Jesus Christ death and resurrection, and message of salvation by grace

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,   4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,   5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.   6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,   7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;   8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,   9 obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.   10 As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries,   11 seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.   12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven–things into which angels long to look. (1 Peter 1:3-12 NASB)

14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, 15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you,   16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.   17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness,   18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. (2 Peter 3:14-18 NASB)

Paul’s message of the gospel according the Old Testament Scriptures for salvation by faith in Jesus

“1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,   2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.   3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,   4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures“ (1 Corinthians 15 NASB)

Jesus Christ’s gospel message of His death and resurrection according to the Old Testament Scriptures for Jews and Gentiles

“44 He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”   45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,  47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.“ (Luke 24 NASB)

Conclusion…if Jesus and the other apostles preached a different gospel (another gospel) they are to be accursed!!!

“6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; 7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.  8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!   9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!“ (Galatians 1 NASB)
